Here Comes Relay … the Robot

Luxury Matters
Categories: Trend , Marketing Ideas , Toiletries

You might recall back in September we told you about Relay, a 3 ft tall rolling robot that several hotels were beginning to test for the delivery of things like extra towels, toiletries, and so forth. Well, that robot, made by a company in Silicon Valley called Savioke, may be coming to a hotel near you. Savioke is rolling out the model to several hotels around the world where the robots will be tasked with delivering toothpaste and coffee to guests.

Apparently, the Relay fleet made quite an impression during the test run -- more than 11,000 deliveries last year, which added up to more than 70 marathons or 3,000 kilometers, according to TechCrunch.

Berkshire Amenities Group is now offering the sustainable, luxurious, and environmentally-sound, Duck Island toiletries for inns and spas. The renowned British brand offers a lavish experience to guests while keeping a careful eye on the environment. Duck Island's bottles and caps are recyclable. All of the products are Paraben and Mineral Oil Free, and they're never tested on animals.

Duck Island's inspiration comes from an island of the same name, which has long since disappeared, though in 1734, at the height of its international fame and sophistication, it was described as "a paradise in miniature."

Duck Island formed part of one of England's oldest Royal Parks, located in the heart of London, one of the world's most fashionable cities. In 1664, the King of England, Charles II, received a magnificent gift of pelicans from the Russian Ambassador, and chose Duck Island as their home. At the time, pelicans were one of the most exclusive and expensive presents imaginable. They are the inspiration behind Duck Island's pelican motif.

Berkshire Amenities Group has added the following Duck Island products to its bath and body collection:
